Separation Agreements
A separation agreement is a legal document that outlines the terms of separation between two spouses who have decided to end their relationship. A separation agreement can cover a wide range of issues, including division of property, spousal support, child custody and access, and child support. When it is drafted properly, it is a legally binding document.
It may be scary and confusing to go through a separation, with so much information (or misinformation) on the Internet.
In my role as a lawyer, as a negotiation specialist, I provide legal advice and guidance throughout the process to ensure that you understand your options, that your rights and interests are protected and that the agreement is fair and reasonable.
In my role as a mediator for your family, I help identifying the issues that need to be address such as property division, child and spousal support, and child custody. I am a hands-on mediator and I love making creative, intelligent and practical recommendations that meet the interests of both sides.
My peers frequently comment that the separation agreements I draft are well written, organized and accurately and fairly reflect the terms that were agreed to. This saves you money because it avoids very expensive back and forth rounds of edits between counsel when lawyers try to insert unfair or inflammatory language.
